Molly is a 7-year-old brindle boxer who rescued us in 2010 when we found her sitting in a lonely cage at a North Carolina humane society. We have always had dogs in our family, all rescues, all great, but Molly is the one! She is my workshop partner.

I'm a retired Soldier who was too young to hang it up so I continue to serve in my career field in the federal government. My grandfather was a career cabinetmaker and having spent much time in his home shop as a child, I always thought of becoming a woodworker.  My father also built some of our furniture when I was a kid - he could do a lot with plywood and formica. About 10 years ago, I was fortunate enough to have some good Army friends help me build a pole barn on our NC property, which was the push I needed to get serious about learning the craft of woodworking. Over the years since, I've been lucky enough to have space for a shop to learn and explore  the craft. My wife is a webmaster so I took advantage of her professional skills to highlight Molly and some of our work. We currently make our home in Marshall, Virginia, where we raise Dexter cows and enjoy the farm life.
